World Cup Clobber

World Cup pressure? What pressure? Here Geoff Hurst, Nobby Stiles and England’s captain Bobby Moore relax before the opening game of the 1966 World Cup. Even in their downtime they had a stylish look. The unbuttoned shirts, the sandals and socks and the slip on shoes, kept it smart with minimal effort.
Here a young England fan chases down Bobby Moore and Martin Peters. Looking smooth, the two hammers kept it simple and clean cut in their button down polo’s. Pleated cuffed trousers and simple accessories (notice the white faced, black strapped watch Bobby sported) made the look easy and comfortable. This style was a common trend, from kids to the players themselves. It’s all about being cool.
